Covid-19 Reopening Information and Guidelines
Updated September 28, 2020
Dear School of Rock Community,
The moment has finally arrived when we are coming back together in person at School Of Rock Seattle! We’d like to take the opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you for sticking with us as we’ve all navigated the truly bizarre new realities of our day-to-day lives. We consider our school community to be a family and we appreciated your continued support.
Before we present our plan for re-opening, we’d like to start by making two things abundantly clear:
- If you’re not yet ready to come back to in-person lessons, that’s completely fine. Everybody has different circumstances and not only do we totally respect your call, we’ve also made some programming changes to help give you some options.
- If we receive government orders or recommendations from either the State of Washington or the CDC which are more stringent than the standards we’re putting in place, we will immediately be adjusting our measures accordingly.
Starting October 1, 2020:
Limited in-person classes and lessons will resume. All remote programs will still be operating as normal; if you are not comfortable coming to the school in person, that is not a problem, in fact we’ve added programming options for remote students.
During this phase:
-
All students will be required to follow social distancing rules
-
Hands must be washed or sanitized immediately upon arrival
-
Masks must be worn at all times while in the school
-
No food/eating will be permitted inside the school
-
Students must maintain a distance of six feet from one another and from instructors
-
Lesson rooms will be set up to accommodate six feet distances
-
One person is allowed in the restrooms at a time
-
All students are required to have their own instrument/microphone, drum sticks, guitar picks and cables. Students are welcome to use school equipment (excluding microphones), but it will need to be set aside after use by a single student to be sanitized at the end of the day; school equipment may therefore not be available for use when needed.
-
Parent / sibling presence in the school will need to be limited to outdoor dropping off, picking up, or meeting specifically with staff.
Even though there’s a lot of information here, we know there will be additional questions. Please feel free to reach out anytime by phone: 206.417.7625 or email: seattle@schoolofrock.com!
From all of us here at SoR Seattle, thanks for being part of our school community. We couldn’t do this without all of you!
